Description:
The Quest for the Cup (QFTC) is a friendly competition between university programs in the state. The quiz bowl style competition brings together students, faculty and alumni and provides a gainful opportunity to encourage student preparation for the national exam in speech-language pathology and audiology.
Goal:
For graduate students, preparing for the national exam in speech-language pathology prior to graduation, to showcase student knowledge and skills as future clinicians through a quiz bowl competition.
Objectives:
1. For each university in Missouri with an on-ground CSD program to field and train a 5-person team of graduate students (i.e. a captain, three team members, and one alternate) in preparation for the competition each year.
2. For one university team to be recognized as the Quest for the Cup champion each year for answering the most questions (related to expertise in the field) correctly during the competition.
Nomination Process:
Each university in Missouri with an on-ground Speech-Language Pathology and/or Audiology program is permitted to field a team to showcase their university’s preparation for the national exam.
Registration Process:

Award:
• One night hotel stay for each team Captain at the Convention hotel.
• Praxis Test fee reimbursement for the winning team and Quest Trophy recognition.
Criteria:
Team members must be enrolled as on-ground graduate students studying speech-language-hearing sciences at an accredited university in Missouri to participate. Each participant should attend the 2025 MSHA conference. Each participant must have their own personal cell phone to play the game.
Selection Process:
Student participants are nominated by the university in which they are enrolled. The captain of each team is selected by the university faculty. The 5-member team (four plus one alternate) which answers the most questions correctly is awarded the prize.
