The MSH-Foundation is governed by a nine member board of trustees, composed of seven Elected Trustees and two Ex-Officio Trustees (MSHA board and committee liaisons).
Trustees support the yearly fundraising goals and aspirations of the Foundation, build relationships with prospective supporters, and volunteer participation and leadership for Foundation programs.

The Missouri Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity.
In order to expand support for future professionals, a task force from the Missouri Speech-Language-Hearing Association (MSHA) incorporated the Missouri Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation (MSH-Foundation) as a public nonprofit in the state of Missouri on July 10, 2020,
The MSH-Foundation is governed by its own Board of Trustees. To maintain affiliation between the two organizations, a director of the board of MSHA serves in an ex-officio capacity as a trustee on the board of the Foundation.
On April 4, 2021, the MSH-Foundation received federal 501c3 status as a charitable organization eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions in accordance with IRS regulations. Federal EIN: 85-4052897.
